Berkeley Lab In the News, Week of May 26, 2013

Berkeley Lab “In the News” is our weekly review of Lab researchers, staff, and students who have appeared in the news media this past week. This is but a sampling of our coverage. Please note that some links may expire after time.

A May 31 Wiredmagazine story featured a breakthrough imaging technique led by the Lab’s Felix Fischer allowing the observation of atoms forming bonds. The work was widely covered by The Verge, Gizmodo, SlashGear, Engadget, and others.

A May 31 Chemistry World story on a debate over how LEDs work quoted the Lab’s Christian Kisielowski.

A May 29 New York Times story on the benefits of running vs. walking quoted the Lab’s Paul Williams. A May 24 Wall Street Journal story also cited some of Williams’ work.

The latest issue of Living Architecture Monitor magazine includes a Q&A with the Lab’s Art Rosenfeld.

The May 28 NPRshow On Point included a conversation on science funding and included Lab Director Paul Alivisatos.

A May 28 Washington Post story on hybrid tanks quoted the Lab’s Venkat Srinivasan.

A May 26 ABC World News Tonight story looked at the recent rediscovery of moon dust found at the lab by archivist Karen Nelson. New Scientist, Cnet.com, IB Times, CBS News, Voice of America and UPI wire news were among many others covering the finding.
