Berkeley Lab “In the News” is our weekly review of Lab researchers, staff, and students who have appeared in the news media this past week. This is but a sampling of our coverage. Please note that some links may expire after time.

A March 25 Business Standard story noted Ashok Gadgil’swork on a water filter for removing arsenic.

A March 24 KGO-TV ABC Bay Area story covered the Molecular Foundry’s 10th anniversary, and included interviews with Jeff Neaton, Steve Chu and others.

A March 24 Science News story featured new research led by Kevin Wilson leading to a better understanding of cloud formation. The coverage was based on a Lab news release.

A March 24 story on The Wire looked at the future of accelerators and prominently included work being done at Berkeley Lab.

A March 24 PBS News Hourstory on the creation of a stripped-down life form quoted Samuel Deutsch. A similar story on NBC News quoted Deutschand Adam Arkin.

A March 24 Genetic Engineering & Biotechnology News story covered work led by EvaNogales on a major advancement in the understanding of how our molecular machinery works. The Next Big Future, SciCasts.com and many others based their stories on a Lab news release on the work.

A March 23 HPCwire story announced recent NERSC HPC Achievement Award winners, which included Charlie Koven and William Riley, along with former Berkeley lab researcher Scott French. The story resulted from a NERSC news release.

A March 22 story in The Chemical Engineer quoted Norman Su on work he led with Jeff Urban on a hybrid membrane to capture carbon. EET India and other outlets based their stories on a Lab news release on the work.

A March 21 Radio Free Asia story on China lowering its energy efficiency goals quoted David Fridley.
