Berkeley Lab “In the News” is our weekly review of Lab researchers, staff, and students who have appeared in the news media this past week. This is but a sampling of our coverage. Please note that some links may expire after time.

The March issue of Mother Jones magazine includes a story on California’s efforts to reduce greenhouse gases and looks at Art Rosenfeld’s groundbreaking work and quotes Ashok Gadgil.

A recent Symmetry magazine story on the Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument quoted Michael Levi and Tim MillerUniverse Today ran a similar story.

A March 18 Lab Manager News story highlighted work on wave energy being done by Marcus Lehmann.

A March 17 Utility Dive story quoted Lisa Schwartz on performance-based utility regulation, looking at a recent report she co-authored.

A March 16 Window Film Magazine story highlighted work by Raymond Weitekamp, Arman Shehabi, and Steve Selkowitz on a paint-on coating to increase energy efficiency of windows.

And a March 16 Architect’s Guide to Glass & Metal magazine story covered a talk by Steve Selkowitz on the current state of window research.

A March 16 New York Post story looked at research into invisibility cloaks, including work led by Xiang Zhang.

A March 15 Los Angeles Times opinion piece mentioned Berkeley Lab in a piece on the decision to install home solar panels.

A March 14 Albany Daily Star story featured work led by Jeff Bokor and Scott Dhuey on a magnetic chip breakthrough that may lead to more energy efficient computers. Shanghai Daily, Xinhua News, The Stack, and several others also covered their work.

A March 14 CleanTechnica story looked at work on graphene energy storage, research led by Eun Seon Cho and Jeff Urban.

A March 14 Daily Cal story looked at small business vouchers that will allows businesses to collaborate with lab researchers. The story quoted Ramamoorthy Ramesh and Alecia Ward.

A March 14 Huffington Post piece co-written by David Bailey looked at the annual Pi Day activities.
