Gizmodo quotes physicist Spencer Klein (NSD) in an article about a new IceCube neutrino observatory result that points to a blazar as the source of a high-energy neutrino observation. IEEE Spectrum also quoted Klein and referenced his 2011 account of a South Pole visit. (July 12)

Photonics.com picked up the news of Steve Kevan being named director of the Advanced Light Source. (July 6)

HPCWire picked up Computing’s news of hosting eight DOE Computational Science Graduate Fellows. (July 6)

The Daily Cal covered an exascale project for running earthquake simulations, quoting David McCallen (EESA), the Lab’s lead on the project. Homeland Security News Wire and Insurance Journal also picked up the release. (July 3)

Local news services reported that the man who started a 20-acre fire near the Lab last Aug. 2 and was later detained near the Lab by UC police was sentenced to four years in prison. (July 10)
