Berkeley Lab “In the News” is our weekly review of Lab researchers, staff, and students who have appeared in the news media this past week. This is but a sampling of our coverage. Please note that some links may expire after time.

An April 27 Physics World story looked at new efforts to detect neutrinoless double-beta decay and quoted Alan Poon, the project’s group leader.

An April 27 Irish Timesstory highlighted research co-led by the Lab and the Joint Center for Artificial Photosynthesis showing new findings that may lead to a solar fuel breakthrough. The story quoted The Molecular Foundry’s Jeff Neaton, a coauthor.

An April 26 IEEE Spectrum story featured work on a 2-D thin magnet, work led by Xiang Zhang. The International Business Times, AzoNano and Nanowerk were some of the other outlets covering his work based on a Lab news release.

An April 26 Construction Dive story featured work at FLEXLAB on improving energy efficiency in buildings and touched on an ongoing collaboration with Singapore. The story quoted Cindy Regnier.

An April 26 Technology Review story looked at the new cohort of researchers in the Lab’s Cyclotron Road tech incubator program and quoted Ilan Gur.

Cyclotron Road was also the subject of a CNN Money story looking at work by one its projects, Opus 12, and quoted Nicholas Flanders and Sebastien Lounis.

An April 25 Xinhua News story looked at a rare view of a supernova and quoted co-authors Peter Nugent and Danny Goldstein. The story was based on a Lab news release.

An April 25 Boston Globe story on understanding the role of trees in climate change quoted Trevor Keenan.

An April 24 San Jose Mercury News story on extreme weather and greenhouse gases quoted DáithíStone.
