Berkeley Lab “In the News” is our weekly review of Lab researchers, staff, and students who have appeared in the news media this past week. This is but a sampling of our coverage. Please note that some links may expire after time.
A video by lab employee David Stein showing goats crossing the road has gone viral appearing in dozens of news media outlets around the world. Several stories quoted the Lab’s Tom Price on the lab’s use of goats for fire suppression. Stories appeared on NPR, CNN, San Francisco Chronicle, local stations KGO-TV, KPIX-TV, KRON-TV, KNTV-TV, the San Jose Mercury News, New York Daily News, CBS Network, UPI, and many more.
A June 18 Daily Cal story highlighted new research led by Jill Banfield identifying new bacteria. GenomeWeb ran a similar story.
The summer issue of California magazine includes a story on electric bicycles and quotes Marca Doeff.
Also in the summer issue of California is a profile of Marvin Cohen.
A June 17 Indian Express story featured research on the use of sugarcane biomass for jet fuel, work led by Dean Toste, Alexis Bell andCorinne Scown. Zee News and the Daily Cal also covered their work.
